    1920 Census indicates George was the head of household, owned his home and and it was mortgaged and he could read and write.

    1930 Census indicates George was the head of household, owned his dwelling and it was mortgaged for $3700. It states he was 20 years old Mattie was 15 when they first got married and he was not a veteran.

    Quote By Cassie Belle Harrison: "First he went to Aunt Sally because he was not treated well by his step mother and she didn't treat Audley good either. He later lived with a family who was a teacher. One day when I was about 10 the teacher, a man, came up to Misourri on a horse to see George. He hadn't seen him in awhile. George was about 14 when he rigged a pole so it would come down on my head when I would open the door, he was always playing pranks. Soon after that he left home."

    Obituary: George W Harrison, 78, retired farmer of 1507 S. Fourth, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday in a local hospiital after an illness of three weeks. Born Oct. 23, 1872, in Tennessee, he was married to Miss Mattie Woods on May 12, 1892, in Ellis county, Texas. They moved to Lawton from Duncan. Survivors include his wife of the home address, six sons, Ed, Phoenix, Ariz; Dan, 1316 G; Obie, Rt. 2, Lawton; Johnny, of the home address; Charley, 2701 F; and Vollie, 401 Garfield. Three daughters, Mrs. Annie Hennessee, Harlingen, Texas; Mrs. Maggie Yound, Coalinga, Calif; and Mrs. Cassie Bevis, Riverdale, Calif; 35 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Josie Mosiey, Slavin, Texas.

    George married Woods, Mattie Roxie on 12 May 1892 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas.     Obituary: Services for Mrs. Mattie Roxie Harrison, 91, of 1507 S. Fourth, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, 15th and D. Mrs. Harrison died about 5 p.m. Friday in a local hospital following an illness of seven weeks. Rev. Fred Andrews, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. James A. Howeth, a local Baptist minister. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. Born Feb. 28, 1876, at Murfreesboro, Tenn., she was married to George W. Harrison, May 12, 1892, at Waxahachie, Tex. Mr. Harrison died in August of 1951. The couple moved to Oklahoma in 1899 and to Lawton in 1920. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Dan Harrison, 1513 I; Obie Harrison, 1317 Pennsylvania; Charley Harrison, 2430 E; Volley Harrison, 1507 S. Fourth; and Johnny Harrison, of Lancaster, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Annie Hennessee, 1011 G; Mrs. Maggie Young, of Coalinga, Calif.; and Mrs. Cassie Bevis, of Santa Clara, Calif.; a brother Marvin Woods, of Shafter Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Sosbee, of Harlingen, Tex.; Mrs. Emma Washington, of Marietta, Okla.; 37 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren and 52 great great grandchildren.

    Notes:

    This researcher found the years of 1864 and 1865 for the years of Charles' birth date. Several of his grandchildren searched their records and found the birth year of 1865 was on many documents including his funeral program, census and Civil War records and the confusion of the date came from the year 1864 being on his tombstone which was made by family in later generations and a mistake.

    Quote from Pamela Ruth Hennessee regarding a family photo of Charles, Ella Belle and their four oldest children taken about 1901 based on the age of the baby in the photo, when asked where the photo was taken. "Grandpa died in 1920 and is buried in Marlow, that is where they lived when Big Mama (Gladys the baby) married in 1919. I don't know when or where but Grandpa lost a foot and he was not well after that There was a bad snow storm, the family was with out food and he walked a long ways to get supplies, when he got back he was very frostbite causing the lost of his foot."

    Quote from Peggy Farrar "Mother (Thelma Caroline Farrar) told me he had been digging fence post and a blister developed on one of his feet. He was diabetic and had problems with the blister healing. Gang-green set in shortly afterwards and his leg had to be removed. He died a few days later."
